This was a meeting with a New Orleans curator that everyone felt would be a most helpful source of information on our Noel Rockmore Project. Dan is not only involved in the CAC but is the Curator for the biennial Prospect 1 and now Prospect 2 which host 80 artists in 100,000 square feet in scattered places throughout the city. He was enthusiastic about our Noel Rockmore Project and had several insights and suggestions which really helped us moving forward.
He is based in NYC and New Orleans and shared his real life experience in fund raising, grants, national publicity, the artworld, accessing curators, getting a museum show and more. It is such a nice feeling when someone takes the time to give you feedback based on their real life experience. The fact that they have made something similar to what you are trying to do a reality is inspirational. It is our dream to one day pull off a citywide event similar to Prospect 1 & 2 about Noel Rockmore and his parents.
